Backyard Comedy Club, Bethnal Green
Speaker: Tracey Rashid
Happy New Year and Happy Birthmonth to Sunday Assembly London! (Our first assembly was in January 2013.)
For so many of us, birthday cakes symbolise celebration, belonging and love. But for some children, birthdays can pass quietly, without a cake to mark the day. There’s a charity that’s changing that.
Our guest speaker: Tracey Rashid
Free Cakes for Kids UK is a national network whose volunteer groups bake homemade birthday cakes. Those cakes help create cherished memories, reduce pressure on families and strengthen community bonds.
Tracey Rashid, Chair of the Croydon branch, will tell us how business leadership and love of baking are the recipe for brining Free Cakes for Kids to even more homes across the UK.

Details of this assembly are subject to change nearer the time.
Our singalongs
As usual, there will be four pop songs performed by our Sunday Assembly London band and reflecting today’s theme. You’ll find out which ones at the assembly, or you may spot clues on our social media closer to the time.
The lyrics will be projected on screen and everyone’s welcome to sing (and dance) along.
