Into the Wow: Mystery and The Cult of Normality

11:00 am, January 17 2027

Backyard Comedy Club, Bethnal Green

Speaker: Tim Ruth

January 2027 marks 14 years since Sunday Assembly London began – and we’ll be bringing you the ideal voice to reinforce our long-standing desire to Wonder More.

Drawing from his recent book and highly personal experiences, Tim Ruth will, in his own words, ‘introduce two competing orientations to life: the Cult of Normality which places obligation, productivity and conformity at its centre; and the Cult of Wow, which begins with awe.’

Share in Tim’s discovery that even within normality, ‘another way of seeing is possible.’

Check back for more details nearer the time.

Our singalongs

As usual, there will be four pop songs performed by our Sunday Assembly London band and connected to today’s theme.

The lyrics will be projected on screen and everyone’s welcome to sing (and dance) along.
